Only 6 more sleeps!
Here are some last minute reminders:
1. Remember to bring bedding such as sleeping bag, pillow and sheet (if you want)
2. Slippers are a necessary item, since we have to take our shoes off at the hall where we will be scrapbooking.
3. All our meals will be included, but you are encouraged to bring some snacks for late night scrapbooking, or just to munch on throughout the day. There is a refrigerator that we are able to use, if you want to put anything into it such as drinks, etc.
4. If you are taking a workshop, you will have to supply your own adhesive for the project (I would recommend bringing glue sticks, photo squares, and or liquid fast dry adhesive, snail adhesive, if you want- basically your favourite adhesive) and your basics like a paper cutter, scoring tool, bone folder and the like.
5. The boat leaves Deep Cove at 4:15p.m.
Give yourself plenty of time to drive through rush-hour traffic to Deep Cove, and get there about 30 minutes before the boat leaves. Once in Deep Cove, you will see the water ahead of you. Turn right when you reach the end of the road, and you will see a road to the left, that you can drive down to the dock ramp. Unload your stuff ( about three cars will fit there at one time). Then you can drive back up and find parking along the road. I will give you ideas of where to park. The camp recommends finding a residential side street, since the park parking lot does not allow overnight parking. So you will have to unload your stuff, and park your cars. Don't worry- there will be lots of us, and we will have lots of hands to help 'shlepp' the stuff down the ramp and then back up the hill again to the cropping space! Let's hope the tide is high!!!
We've never had any problems with parking in the four times we've had the retreat. Don't worry!
6. Try not to bring everything- we have to fit 30 people and all our supplies into the same boat as last year!)
7. Try to eat before you come- we will not have dinner at the retreat Friday night, we will have a warm snack around 8:00 p.m.
8. If you want to bring some music cd's you can- we will have access to a radio throughout the day, and we'll plug in some chick flicks to keep us company during the night.
That's about all.... any questions, please e-mail me. I will be happy to answer them for you! Can't wait to see you all there!!!!

it's coming up fast
I just wanted to send some reminders about our upcoming retreat:
1. Remember to bring bedding (sleeping bag, pillow and sheet if you want)
2. Slippers are great, since we have to take our shoes off at the hall where we will be scrapbooking.
3. All our meals will be included, but you are encouraged to bring some snacks for late night scrapbooking, or just to munch on throughout the day.
If you are taking a recipe or mini album class consider contacting us to find out what size photos or recipes to bring so you can FINISH your project on site.
5. The boat leaves Deep Cove at 4:15p.m. Give yourself plenty of time to drive through rush-hour traffic to Deep Cove, and get there about 30 minutes before the boat leaves. You can drive your car down to the top of the dock ramp, and unload your stuff ( about three cars will fit there at one time). Try not to bring everything- we have to fit 35 people and all our supplies into the same boat as last year!)
6. You will have to find parking in Deep Cove.
7. Try to eat before you come- we will not have dinner at the retreat Friday night, we will have a warm snack around 8:00 p.m.
8. If you want to bring some music cd's you can- we will have access to a radio throughout the day, and we'll plug in some chick flicks to keep us company during the night.
Hmmmm, anything else, will be posted...

Cards that Move...

This one is designed by Jessie from Cherish the Thought. Isn't it nice! I like how you can pull on the ribbon and two pieces pop up! One has been left blank so you can write on it. I think she called this a double slider card! I just love blues and greens together! This will be the inspiration for one of the Cards that Move. The last time I made one like this I used a monkey. I will see if I can find it and post it tomorrow, hopefully. Blog you L8R

Crop 'til you drop and then some more.....
I can't believe Camp Crop-A-Lot has been held for 4 years already and is now being offered twice yearly! It is fabulous fun! Scrap bookers, Cardmakers, and some knitters have all enjoyed a boat ride up the Indian Arm to Camp Jubilee where we stay in bunk beds in heated cabins with washrooms. Some body else cooks our food! Somebody else washes our dishes! Someone else scrubs the pots, mops the floors, bakes the desserts! We just relax and help ourselves to coffee, tea, lemonade at our leisure or walk the grounds, take a nap, read in between all the catching up on our Scrapbooking of course. Workshops and make n'takes are also offered. We leave for an isolated location on Friday before dinner and return Sunday afternoon which leaves plenty of time for cropping and pasting and stamping! There are showers and all the amenities you might need. Just bring your own supplies for cropping and your sleeping bags and snacks.
Whether you come alone or with a group to our weekend retreat crop it won't matter because by the end … you'll have so many new cropping friends!

2 more sleeps!

The retreat is just 2 days away, and I am so excited to see you again and meet our newcomers!!! Our 'water taxi' will leave the dock at 6:00p.m. on Friday, so make sure that you take travel time into consideration, since it is a Friday! Once you get into Deep Cove, after the little round about and you turn right, the water will be to your left, and if you take the first driveway on your left, it is a one way dead end to the dock, a perfect place to unload your stuff. From there, I will meet you and can direct you to some parking spots! There are usually lots of them along the side of the street, and it is pretty safe, no incidences in the last 3 years!
Mitch, our driver, will then take us on a 1/2 hour drive up the Indian Arm to our resort. We will then unload, and carry all our stuff up to the main lodge. Now, unlike the other years, we are sharing the camp with another group, and they will have the downstairs of the lodge, and we will have our own private Fordham Hall, which is a bit of a little walk (30 meters?). I will make sure we have lots of tables, so 2 people can work at one table.
I will also give you your cabin assignments, and you can drop off your stuff there and make yourselves comfy!!! (Some like to change into their pj's right away).
There will be a snack around 8pm, most likely veggie and cheese tray or something of that sort. Make sure you eat something before you head up to Deep Cove. We are getting breakfast, lunch, dinner on Saturday, and a brunch on Sunday morning, so if you want to bring up any snacky things, that is a good idea!
I think the weather will be ideal for our planned weekend (pouring rain, perfect for staying inside!!
Don't forget to bring your slippers, since they don't allow shoes in the main hall where the cafeteria is! Also, if you have any great girlie movies, bring them along, I will bring my collection, too! And we can also bring some cd's for music.

Let's do it again!
Wednesday, March 12, 2008
Thursday, March 6, 2008
Last minute Reminders...
Make sure you pack:
* slippers (we have to take our shoes off in the main hall where we eat and scrapbook)
* a towel (there are washrooms in the cabins -sink and toilet- and showers in another cabin
* snacks - for those late nights- (optional, of course)
* sleeping bag and pillow (can easily be put into a garbage bag, just like the camping kids do!!)
The boat will leave the Government Dock in Deep Cove at 6:00p.m. Please arrive about 15 minutes early (or more if possible) to unload your car and park it.
Here are directions to Deep Cove:
1. Take Highway #1 over Second Narrows Bridge into North Vancouver
2. Take the first exit after the bridge (Dollarton Highway) east towards Deep Cove. It will lead you right into Deep Cove. But if you miss this turnoff, take the second exit from the bridge (Mount Seymour Parkway) and head towards Mount Seymour. Follow the parkway all the wayto the end, then turn left on Dollarton Highway into Deep Cove.
3. When you drive into Deep Cove you will see the ocean infront of you. Turn right on the circular roundabout thingy and you will see the ocean on the left. There will then be a road on the left that will take you right down to the dock towards the water to unload. It is really narrow, so you can drive down to unload, but you have to drive backwards to get on the main road again. I will be there really early to help you get your stuff down to the dock. There is only one dock, and it is located right beside the Canoe and Kayak clubhouse. There is also a yacht club, but it is to the left and gated, I think. Sorry, ladies, no yacht for us!
4. There is parking allowed along the road. It is secure enough. We've had about 20 cars park there in the past, and have had no incidences. Just make sure you don't leave valuable things inside the car. And make sure that there is no sign that says "NO parking". Up the hill from the waterfront is great parking. I will show you, if you need to find some. Don't worry, just come early enough and you will be just fine!
5. The boat is quite big. I know you will probably have about 3-4 bags of stuff. One for clothing, a garbage bag with sleeping bag and pillow, and some scrapbooking totes. There will be lots of room for those things. DOn't go crazy packing everything, though- take into consideration that you have to shlep everything into the boat, and from the boat, up a little hill to the cabins
6. We will not leave without you. If you are late arriving to Deep Cove, please call my friend Betty at 778-868-0030. I don't have a cell phone, but she does. So at least we will know that you are coming. We will definately wait for you!! Although, try to get away nice and early, since it will be Friday rush hour that we have to deal with!
7. Try to get something to eat before you leave, since we will only be having a snack on Friday night. I think they changed the menu to veggies and cheese trays. etc. There is always juice available, and water, tea and coffee. I think they left out fruit to eat anytime, too.
8. Once we arrive at camp, I will let you know what cabin you are in, so you can get your stuff up to the cabins and change, or whatever you want to do. You can leave your scrapbooking stuff at the main hall. I will set up the tables for everyone. AND then we can go crazy and scrapbook! Oh yes, you do have to play a game, though, since I really like games, and everyone who plays gets a prize!!!!
9. It will be an awesome weekend. I hope you are all looking forward to meeting new friends and just getting away and doing what you love!
See you on Friday!!!!!
~Dunja
PS. On a down note- we have to set our clocks ahead on Sunday morning! Yuck!
